A Weekend to Remember
God provided in a neat way so Roxanne and I could get away last weekend to South Padre Island here in Texas for a Weekend to Remember marriage conference.

Working with Tutors
Every afternoon Monday through Thursday, we spend one-on-one tutoring time with one of the Bible Institute students. The entire hour has to be in Spanish. Sometimes we just talk (and laugh) but other times it gets down to business because we need help with our homework!
The time has come for Roxanne and I to have a lot of writing and speaking assignments in Spanish.

Roxanne had a Birthday!
October 2 was a day to celebrate! It meant an opportunity to break routine; to get out of the house; to get off campus for something other than church or Walmart. We went out to eat!
Yesterday was a fun day for Roxanne with phone calls, emails, and Facebook posts from family and friends. She received several cards and gifts too.

Is it “Football” or “Futbol”?
I’m enjoying football season even if our Green Bay Packers lost yesterday to make two in row. I’ve been asked by some if I’m a “Packer Fan” or a “Brett Favre Fan” (unfortunately that has to be a choice this year). My answer is, “both, but more a Packer Fan.” Some day Brett really will retire. But that’s a whole “nuther” subject…
Fortunately moving to Mexico doesn’t mean that I will have to completely give up “Futbol Americano”. Of course, I will probably have to make friends with someone who has cable TV.
But here’s proof that I can still watch American Football.

So Where’s Kerra?
Our oldest daughter Kerra is not with us in Texas. She is now living and working in Wisconsin. I’ve asked her to send some pictures and an update that could be posted here so you can be praying for her as well.
Since graduating from Rio Grande Bible Institute Language School on May 8 and from Northwestern College on May 17 (with an Associate’s of Arts and Bible with a specialization in Business), I have been at Camp Forest Springs in Westboro, Wisconsin.
