Vacation Bible School
Last week, the local evangelical church here in Ticuman held it’s annual week of Bible school. In 2006, our family helped with teaching and games and there were about 80 kids in attendance. This year there were 130 kids!

It’s a Small World!
For years it has been the case that we almost can’t go anywhere without running into people who have been to Camp Forest Springs!
The other day, Peter and I were working on some landscaping around the pool area here at El Monte. A small group of people were visiting from Mexico City. It turns out that they were missionaries and summer interns with Pioneers, another mission organization. As part of thier tour, we were introduced to them.

Rain
This past week we’ve had some unusual amounts of rain! It normally only rains here in the evening or at night, but this year has been exceptionally wet--even raining during the day. I don’t know what you are used to for rain amounts, but when it rains here, it POURS! Someday, I want to put a rain-gauge out to measure it.

Lest you think we worked the whole time…
Working at El Monte is hot and hard and the days fly by quickly while progress is being made. But being in Mexico is a total experience! Being able to experience new things and be stretched as a person is part of why one takes a trip like this. Things “foreign” can become “familiar” as we grow, and of course this becomes a spiritual lesson as well!
Here’s a view of some of the varied experiences that we built into the evenings after our day’s work was done.

Work-team Part 3
Well, our family has been dealing with some sickness lately and that has contributed to a continued lack of Internet time. I’m also having difficulty with outgoing mail and have spent several hours online trying to solve these problems. We would appreciate your prayers for our health (we are on the mend) and for our email difficulties.
With that shared, I want to post several pictures of our work-team. They are all home safely now, and we here in Mexico are rejoicing at all the progress that was made. In order to save time, I’ll keep the running commentary to a minimum.
