Homework’s Heavy these Days

One of our teacher’s asked me today, “How’s it going?” I told him that I didn’t have a headache, but it literally feels like my brain is swollen and I’m trying to hold together all the things we need to remember. It’s pretty tough right now as we work to grasp the “Imperfect” vs. the “Preterit” in our Spanish verb tenses.

Heading Home for a Few Days

I (Paul) have the special opportunity this weekend to fly home to see my parents! Mom is still in the hospital and dad is at home. Praise God with me for His provision in a gift toward the plane ticket! Please pray for my travels. I will only miss two days of school as I travel April 10-14.

I took this picture today at RGBI because I wanted to show my mom these kids who are major Sugar Creek Gang fans!

These are the Lopez kids.

Here is a pictorial update of what has happened in the last month.

Our Easter Trip to Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Having Thursday and Friday off for Easter, we took a driving trip into Mexico to visit our friends and see Monterrey. We stayed with our good friends Edgar and Linda Martell. They were great hosts and showed us many wonderful sights around Monterrey. We enjoyed good food, great friends, and amazing beauty.

One of the major landmarks of Monterrey is “Cerro de la Silla.” The literal translation would be, “Hill of the Chair” ...it’s a very big hill!

I said, “Awww, the first hug I’ve had in weeks” and Mom scowled and mouthed “weeks!?” incredulously. I said, “yeah, mom-you have been here two weeks” and she looked stunned. She is bored but doesn’t want TV or music. She wants her glasses so she can read. This is very encouraging!!”
