A Friday Night Welcome
Last Friday night was a surprise welcome to all the new students of the missionary language school and the Bible institute. It was billed a serious meeting for all the new students.
They were very relieved to find out it was actually a party instead!

Hurricane Season in Full Swing
Having lived in the West and Midwest all of our lives, hurricanes have always seemed like something a long way away from us. Something you watched on the evening news or read about on the Internet.

This is as close as we’ve ever been to looking one in the face. Though all the current models show Gustav making landfall north of here, we are still in the area of possibility.

Back in Language School!
Drinking from a Fire Hydrant!
We’re back at Rio Grande Bible Institute near the southern tip of Texas about 20 miles from the Mexican border. We’ve just completed our second week of classes and we are ”drinking from a fire hydrant!”

60th Wedding Anniversary
Paul’s parents celebrate their 60th!
This picture was taken on August 20 at my sister’s house where Mom and Dad celebrated their anniversary. Sixty years of marriage is no small accomplishment! And this anniversary is that much more special because we know that the Lord spared mom’s life this past year.
