December Baptism at our Home
About 100 people came over to our house this afternoon for a baptism service. Three men were baptized as the church continues it’s growth.
Before the baptisms, there was a time of worship and our Pastor shared a very clear Gospel message. It was a bit of a different day because there was a funeral this morning and the baptisms this afternoon.
After the message, the men went into the cold December water of our pool.
The water was quite cold because this time of year, the pool is in the shade of the neighbor’s palm trees all day. The Pastor jokingly asked me if we had put ice in the water to make it so cold.
Between each baptism the congregation would sing.
This young man is taking a stand for Christ in his family. Sadly, his parents didn’t come today.
After the baptisms came a time of food and fellowship until dark.
The food was amazing!
...and everyone wanted some.
Enrique was one of the men baptized. I had the privilege to sit and eat with him and his family.
This family brought their own grill and cooked “cecina”.
They insisted that I eat one of their tacos with a slice of beef (cecina), crema (sour cream), cactus, and a green salsa. It was really, really good!
The evening ended with volleyball and even some kids swimming in the cold pool until dark.
