Inner-City Outreach Report

We had a long but amazing week of ministry in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. Last week in the national news there was a piece on Philadelphia’s crime issues--they referred to it as “Kill-a-delphia.” On Sunday afternoon there was a young man murdered who grew up in the ministry of the church that we were working with.

We spent the week after Saturday’s block party doing door-to-door evangelism through the neighborhood. I don’t have numbers, but there were several people who were very obviously prepared by the Holy Spirit to receive the Message we brought. It was amazing to see God at work as these people prayed to receive Christ. We really had the sense that these were Divine appointments.

Luke 10:2-3

“He told them, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves.’”

On Friday, October 19, and on Wednesday, October 24, we will go back and do a follow-up ministry seeking to meet with all those who prayed to receive Christ. We would appreciate your prayer for these days! Pray that we will be able to meet with all of them. Ask the Lord to use us to help strengthen and encourage these new believers.
