Our Watchdog
Our kids were in school at El Monte the other day when one of our workers brought up a scared and wet puppy. She had been found down by the river. With 12 missionary kids around her, she was quickly receiving all the attention she needed.
Pretty soon, she was all dried off and enjoying a good meal.
I had been out running errands when Joelle called me and told me the story. She was pretty excited and wanted to know if we could keep it. We did bring it home and have decided to give her a committed try. She’s a “Heinz 57” and we think she has some Doberman, but those characteristics may or may not be more than just her looks...we’ll find out. The dog does have the very markings that Peter was really hoping for.
Here she is in our yard.
She has already figured out how to keep cool in temps nearing 100°.
Her name is Risa.

Cute pictures. The puppy reminds me of the german shepherd puppy I got years ago as a watchdog in the very early days of camp.
I hope she will be a great dog for you. I can see she is already very loved.
