Progress at El Monte!
A facilities update...
New pictures added!
Much has been happening at El Monte since we left there last August. We just received these pictures from Mexico. It is so encouraging to see God’s continued provision enabling progress in the development of the new facilities.
The first camp cabin is almost finished!
This is what it looked like at the beginning of August when we left Mexico to return to language school in Texas this fall. Below are a couple more pictures of the nearly completed cabin.
The inside of the cabin includes two rooms for sleeping and a third room in the back for small group meetings. Check out the view out the windows!
The missionary student apartments.
Just one year ago, Kerra and I stood on the freshly excavated lot for the apartment building. They shared with us that they were trusting God for His provision to have a building standing by last April. By February, they were putting the roof on. Little by little progress has been made and several of the 8 apartments are now in use.
Above is Kerra on the dirt lot. Below is how the building looked at the end of August.
Here are some of the pictures that were just sent to us of the apartments now.
The beautiful outdoor kitchen provides a common area for meal preparations, classroom space, and just a nice place for general gatherings.
The swimming pool area.
The picture above was taken last July. The picture below shows the new shade canopy over the seating area next to the pool.
The pool is right next to a Palapa (open air meeting area) and the new camp cabin. It’s great to see the first camping zone continue to take its physical shape.
A new (second) Palapa.
This simple structure will later be used as a picnic shelter and classroom. But now it is serving as the much-needed wood shop during the construction phase. After a long wait, we finally have a place to “set up shop” and not have to move and clean up every time a group wanted to come to use the El Monte facilities.
We are thanking God for His continued faithfulness as we trust Him to provide and advance the development of the El Monte ministry center. Please join us in prayer asking for God’s provision, protection, for workers and for timing.
