Thank You for Praying!
The reason I haven’t posted much this week is that there has been very little change in my mom’s condition. She’s making minor improvements at a very slow pace. They were able to take her off one blood pressure medication, so that is good.
A bit of encouragement! She was off the ventilator for an hour today! That’s the longest she’s been able to be off since last Monday night. Her heart rate began to rise so they put her back on. The fever that she had last night is gone now. She is a bit more alert today but that is because they have her less sedated. She is reaching for and squeezing the hands of family members who visit. Her heart rate is good and more regular than it has been. Please continue to pray.
Some other family news...
Roxanne, Kerra and I have completed our spring semester mid-term exams! Since Kerra is in the second semester, she is half-way done! Roxanne and I will have two semesters so we are 1/4 of the way done!!!
Peter got braces!
The picture above is the “before shot” that we took just before going to the orthodontist. If you choose to read more of this post, I have to warn you...there’s one picture and well...it’s not pretty! 
He’ll get the bottom ones on a little later.
We really like his orthodontist. He’s a Christian man and all the while that he was installing Peter’s braces, he and the assistant were discussing the book and movie, “The Case for Christ.” Peter’s read the book so he really enjoyed the discussion.
When we got in the car to go home, Peter said, “Dad, that’s not a business, it’s a ministry!” They play Christian music throughout the office and seem to be very outspoken for Christ! We found this orthodontist in the phone book, and though we also talked to a friend about him, we didn’t know this man was a Christian. What a blessing!
Well, I need to get back to my studies...did I tell you that two days this past week were 102! It’s a little different than March in Wisconsin, but I guess it’s good so we can acclimate for living in Mexico. Thank you for your continued prayers for our family!
