This Week at El Monte
I read in “My Utmost for His Highest” devotional this morning, ”Our reach must exceed our grasp.” It’s a reference to our faith and our patience to wait for the Vision. It’s the idea of reaching by faith beyond what we have in our grasp toward what God has called us to do. These pictures may not look like much to you, but this is a very encouraging and exciting next step of faith for the vision at El Monte!
We’re ”reaching” ahead by faith to develop the first soccer field!
It will be about half the size of a regular soccer field, but it will be our largest flat grassy area so far and we are excited to have the additional recreation area!
The next steps will be to install irrigation, put top soil on, and then lay sod. We’re also running electricity for lights. In taking steps of faith, we have learned that as we move forward with God’s plan in His time, God provides. The time has come and ”Our reach must exceed our grasp.”
We have a busy season coming up in June and July with work teams and several camps. We’re also thanking the Lord for the many local churches that keep calling and reserving space at El Monte for weekend retreats and day camps. Having a soccer/recreation field is a needed and major addtion to the camp program areas!
Please join us in praying for God’s continued provision as we build El Monte by faith.... ”Our reach must exceed our grasp!”

Woo-Hoo! A soccer field will be a great asset in your ministry! Somehow I doubt it will matter to the local kids that it has sod or not. Andres and I wish you well with this important addition to El Monte. Please, don’t forget to post a picture of the field when it is “green”.
