Wilson Family Reunion 7-7-07
My Dad is from a family of 12 and my mom is an only child. With that scenario, I still have 64 first cousins! A week after our departure from Camp Forest Springs, Roxanne and I traveled to Ohio for a Wilson Family Reunion. It was a huge and well attended event held at my Aunt Vivian’s farm. Exactly half of the first cousins (32 of us as pictured above) were there with their families. It was an amazing weekend!
While it may not be unique, it is highly unusual to have so many committed, growing and serving believers in one extended family! What a blessing to enjoy our rich heritage and worship our Lord together! Most of the Wilson clan are musically talented. The singing and worshiping together was incredible!
We met in a large pole building at the farm for family sharing times and for worship. So many of us are trained musicians that the choir was bigger than the audience! The final song on Sunday morning was the “Hallelujah Chorus” and it was as good as any choir I’ve heard!
It was extra special for my immediate family to have all of our siblings in attendance.
Not only that, but all of our spouses were present too!
Five of the original 12 Wilson kids are still living. Grandpa and Grandma Wilson are both in Heaven. Three of the five were in attendance at the reunion. Pictured above are my Dad, Kyle Wilson, with his twin sister Ila Marie on his right, and their younger sister Shirley on his left.
I know that all of us were impressed with the importance of glorifying God and continuing to guard and pass on the Godly legacy that we have received. This reunion was a God-honoring and spiritually significant event!

Hi Paul,
What a wonderful opportunity it was to be together on such a unique occassion. It was fune getting to know my cousins as adults. I suppose the last time we even saw each other was at Grandma’s funeral. What a rich heritage we have! Thanks for making the effort to be there. I enjoyed what little time we had the opportunity to talk.
God bless you on your new adventure for Christ. It seems that time as we know it might be short.
Lets try to keep in touch.
Love from a cousin,
Carolyn

Hello, Paul. Enjoyed visiting your web page. I’m still praying for your new endeavor and hope the learning of the language to go quickly for you and your family. The moves we have made have been good experiences for our family. As long as they know that God is calling you and you are fulfilling God’s calling, they can’t go against that too much. Keep in touch. It was great to see you guys. It is hard to get over such a weekend. Love, Beth

I have enjoyed looking at pictures and reliving our reunion many times. What a joy and privilege to be part of a family who desires to love and serve God. I am looking forward to seeing you again while you are here in the northeast. Please let us know when you are able to work us into your schedule.
