Youth Congress April 7-9
The Wilson kids have participated almost every year since 2006 with the local church youth in an annual youth congress.
Kyle and Peter are on the back row right and Joelle is in the front row left in the youth group choir. Each youth group writes and performs their own song.
They also write their own drama and have to present it before the entire congress.
Peter was one of the Roman guards in the drama.
The judges sit in the back and judge each event in the competitions.
There was a tremendous amount of work for everyone starting months before the event and carrying right through it.
The weather was cool, foggy and misty up in the mountains near Puebla, Mexico.
Churches participate from all over Mexico. It is estimated that nearly 1000 people were in attendance.
All the pastors received gifts for their participation. Pictured above is our local pastor and wife.
The overall theme this year was being a disciple of Jesus focusing on four topics: the school of discipleship, the cost of discipleship, the practice of discipleship, and the reward of discipleship. This year’s event was held in a large tent making it reminiscent of the tent revival meetings of years gone by.
